Shortly after, she moved to Chicago, IL where she resided for 3 years. After moving around multiple cities and homes, Lina V and her family settled in Rockford, IL where she began her music career.

Lina discovered her passion and gift for singing at the early age of six, while singing with the local church worship team. Soon after, she began performing at various events around Rockford. Her talent quickly developed into a unique soulful voice which soon caught national attention. By 2006, Lina V began touring the country with Los Angeles based company "Elao Entertainment". After graduating high school in 2008, Lina enrolled at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in classical and fine arts singing.

Lina V's ability to create a new genre not found within the current mainstream, combined with her professional background enables her to perform at a wide variety of venues throughout the country. More recently, her renewed rendition of "Kuptoom Luang Prabang" on YouTube caught the attention of the Philadelphia-based organization "Laos in the House". This online presence led to an invitation to perform there in May 2015. Later that year, Lina contributed her talents to a fundraiser in New York for "Legacies of War" - a non-profit organization who, through the use of art, culture, education, and advocacy, is dedicated to raising awareness about the history of the Vietnam War-era bombing during the Secret War in Laos and the clearance of unexploded ordnance (uxo).

In 2016, Lina V released her song "Wall Street" which fuses Laotian folk songs, with soulful vocal techniques. Most recently, Lina released her first music video titled "Batflo" that examines various stages of a relationship through theatrical, comic book-esque visuals. Lina V currently resides in Los Angeles, California, and continues to draw inspiration from her Laotian American roots to fuel her passion for music. With more creative projects in the future, Lina V strives to use music as a tool to help, heal, and connect with others around the world.
